All at Rumney RFC are extremley sad to announce the passing of Derrick 'Del' Morgan,(Cllr rtd) who sadly passed away recently. Del was a Rumney man through and through, he served the club with pride and was a committee member for in excess of 25years, right up to his sudden passing, where he held the position of club secretary.
Del was best known for his community duties, serving as a staunch Labour Councillor representing his community of LLanrumney with gusto and energy. He also served Cardiff as Lord Mayor on two occasions and always made time for people whether it be a chat or helping out at the various charities he was involved so passionately.He leaves a huge gap in the lives of many people and will be sorely missed by all at Rumney RFC.
His funeral will take place at Thornhill Crematorium on Thursday 9th February at 3:30pm and afterwards at Rumney RFC, Hartland Road, Rumney.
